RenoVō® CASE STUDY: KERATITIS
Close-up of a horse's eye, illustrating equine eye health and RenoVō® regenerative treatment for keratitis.

Case presentation: June 13, 2022: A 12 year-old Gelding Trakehner Dressage Horse presented to Topgun Veterinarian Service, Rock Hill, SC, with a history of generalized keratitis in the right eye. Medical history included corneal haze, subepithelial corneal opacity, rose bengal and fluorescein positive, subtle anterior cortical lens opacity, normal vitreous and retina, and no fungal hyphae detected. The eye had been treated for over two years with medications including ¼ cc of triple antibiotic ointment twice daily, ¼ cc of plasma 2-3 times daily, ¼ cc of Cyclosporine 1% ointment twice daily, and several drops of AN-HyPro gel daily with minimal improvement.

June 17, 2022: The attending veterinarian at Topgun Veterinary Service, Audrey Turbeville, DVM, implanted 1.5 cc RenoVo® subconjunctively in the right eye at her discretion. At the time of implantation, keratitis was still present and the eye stained positive for rose Bengal and fluorescein.

July 7, 2022: 20 days following the RenoVo® administration, the eye improved significantly, was clear and negative for rose Bengal and fluorescein staining.

October 13, 2022: Four months following the RenoVo® administration, the eye was clinically normal with no evidence of keratitis.
