Written by : Renovo Equine

Case presentation: On March 9, 2021,

a three-day-old foal presented with a hoof injury. The mother accidently stepped on the foal’s hoof at two days old, resulting in a severely detached hoof. The detached hoof wall was trimmed off and 3.0 cc of RenoVo® was implanted subcutaneously around the coronet band at the discretion of the attending veterinarian, Dr. Jesse Clement.

On March 13, 2021,

only four days following the RenoVõ® implantation, the hoof was growing back. Standard wound dressing was applied followed by bandage changes performed as needed by the owner at the recommendation of the attending veterinarian.

On March 24, 2021,

fifteen days following the RenoVo® implantation, the hoof injury showed significant healing. The hoof wall and sole were growing back nicely.

On April 26, 2021,

seven weeks following the RenoVo® implantation, the hoof injury was completely resolved.
